Al-Hijra Islamic school was established in 1996 and is the first private school for Muslims in Manitoba. It is recognized by the Manitoba Board of Education and is a member of the Federation of Independent Schools.
Al-Hijra is managed by a voluntary advisory board consisting of community members and representatives of the parents committee. The board consists of an executive committee which is comprised of Chairperson, Vice-chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
Al-Hijra currently goes up to grade 9.
