Inspiring Examples of Volunteerism
Last weekend a group of brothers spent their weekend repairing and reinforcing the badly damaged walls of the Waverly mosque gym. Under the direction of Br. Ala Qasim, MIA EC member & Director of facilities, the group of volunteers did a marvelous job in putting the walls back in shape and making it suitable for sports activities. May Allah bless them and reward them abundantly.
Similarly, in a previous weekend a group of volunteer brothers & sisters moved the office of MIA to the back and reestablished a new, well organized, systematically archived and more professional looking office. We thank them all as well.
The kind of voluntarism we have seen this year from all walks of our community is truly inspiring and is a positive indication of the revitalization of our community. Thanks you to all the volunteers, may you be blessed.
In preparation for the annual MIA General Body meeting to be held in November, as required by MIA constitution, the list of all eligible MIA members has been posted on the bulletin boards of both mosques. In accordance to Article XI, Section 5 of the MIA constitution, the list was posted on October the 15th and includes all members of MIA as of September 30th.
