Islamic History Month 2016

 October is Islamic History Month

For a number of years, the government of Manitoba has proclaimed October to be Islamic History Month. Earlier in September, Manitoba Muslims celebrated the 40th anniversary of Pioneer Mosque, the first mosque ever established in Manitoba.

In partnership with the United Way of Winnipeg, the Manitoba Islamic Association has prepared an exhibit of Muslim history in Manitoba. The exhibit will be on display throughout the month of October in the atrium of the United Way building.  Here you will find a virtual version of the display. We are grateful to all of those who shared their memories, old photos and helped write the description for each section.
