Teaching/School Assistant (2 positions)
Contract: Term until June 30, 2025

Manitoba Islamic Association’s school: Institute of Knowledge opened in September 2023. The school’s mission is to provide a safe space for students to learn and grow as proud Muslim Canadian citizens.
The school is searching for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Educational Assistant.
Under the direction of the school principal, and in collaboration with the teachers, the Teaching/School Assistant is responsible for providing educational support for individual or groups of students both in and outside of the classroom.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing instructional assistance in the classroom to meet the needs of students as directed by teachers
- Supporting the School Office with supervision of students during scheduled shift
- Building strong, positive relationships with the students
- Providing general supervision in a regular classroom setting and during recess/lunch break
- Performing other general duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Experience working with children/youth
- Applicants must supply a Criminal Record search and a clear Child Abuse Registry Check upon hire
- First Aid and CPR training will be considered an asset.

- Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships with children
- Strong judgement and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
- Ability to be flexible to meet the varying academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs of students
- Ability to interact with the students in an effective manner
- Ability to keep high level of confidentiality.
